Terms of Service

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or joining a class on PyClassroom, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

2. Who can use it, and consent for minors

PyClassroom is designed primarily for beginner Python learners in supervised classes. If you are under 13, access is disabled unless the operator has a verified parental-consent or school-authorization process. The server requires a prior, unexpired, class-bound authorization record and consumes it once; a learner's selected basis or checkbox cannot authorize enrollment by itself. The service stores the basis and policy version. The configured under-13 mode is disabled. Learners aged 13–17 must affirm their own agreement and should review these terms with a parent or teacher where applicable law requires it.

3. Accounts and class codes

Students usually join with a class code from a teacher, which creates an account tied to that class. Keep your class code and any password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Teacher accounts are created by the operator; keep those credentials secure.

4. Using the service responsibly

Please use PyClassroom for learning. Don’t:

• •Try to break, overload, or find security holes in the platform, or access data that isn’t yours.
• •Upload or run code intended to harm others, mine cryptocurrency, or abuse the AI features.
• •Harass other learners or your teacher, or submit hateful or illegal content.
• •Attempt to de-anonymize or scrape other users’ data.

Interactive Python runs inside your browser; class-assignment runs and submissions are stored and submitted work is re-run by the server for grading (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

5. Logging, live classes, and AI features

So there are no surprises: we log runs made in class assignments, teachers can watch a student's assignment editor live, and optional AI features send minimized relevant content to configured subprocessors (Not configured — public launch is blocked) to generate a response. Live video is provided by 8x8 only after session-specific consent. A teacher may record locally only after accepting responsibility for notice, security, retention, access, and deletion; PyClassroom never receives that media file. For an under-13 learner, the prior verified class authorization must explicitly cover both live video and local recording before a room token can be issued. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy. AI help is a learning aid — it can be wrong or incomplete, so don’t rely on it as the single source of truth.

6. Your content

The code and work you create stay yours. By using the platform you allow us to store and process that work to run the service (grading, showing it to your teacher, generating AI hints). We don’t claim ownership of your projects.

7. Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time — email Not configured — public launch is blocked or ask your teacher. Authorized administrators can also delete a student’s data from the admin console. See the Privacy Policy for what’s removed.

8. Service “as is” and liability

PyClassroom is provided “as is,” without warranties, and may change or have downtime. Any warranty exclusion or limitation of liability applies only to the extent permitted by governing law. These terms are governed by Not configured — public launch is blocked. Configuration approval is required before production opens, but only qualified counsel for the operator can determine whether this language is sufficient for its users and jurisdiction.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above and, for significant changes, give reasonable notice. Continuing to use PyClassroom after a change means you accept the updated terms.
